01Run it
Replace the <placeholders> with your own values, or use the builder below.
p202 app encoding update <id>02What you get
Pick the shape you need. People get a table. Add
--json, --csv or --ndjson for scripts, or -q for ids only. An AI agent gets compact JSON without asking. All output formats03Build your command
Pick values and the command line writes itself, quoted and ready to paste.
p202 app encoding updateSet flags below; the command updates as you type.
04Flags
8 flags, plus the global flags every command takes.
| Flag | What it does |
|---|---|
| --clear-coarse-valuebool | Set coarse_value to null (pair with --fine-value to switch kinds) |
| --clear-fine-valuebool | Set fine_value to null (pair with --coarse-value to switch kinds) |
| --clear-revenue-overridebool | Go back to the goal's own value |
| --coarse-valuestring | Coarse conversion value: low, medium, highlowmediumhigh |
| --fine-valuestring | Fine conversion value 0-63 |
| --goal-idstring | The goal the value means (p202 goal list --registration-id <id>; evaluated on the device, so no click window) |
| --registration-idstring | iOS registration the encoding applies to (from p202 app list; 0 = account-wide) |
| --revenue-overridestring | Revenue per decoded postback, instead of the goal's own value (tiered decoding) |
05How it works
Updates fields of an encoding. An encoding always maps exactly ONE conversion
value, so switching one between kinds takes the clear and the replacement in one
command: update 5 --clear-fine-value --coarse-value high turns a fine encoding
into a coarse one. The clear flags send an explicit JSON null.
06For agents
Running this from an agent
- Read the same facts as JSON:
p202 commands app encoding update --json. - With
AI_AGENT,CLAUDECODEor another agent variable set, output is compact JSON and errors arrive on stderr as a JSON envelope with ahint. - Exit codes: 0 ok, 1 bad input, 2 auth, 3 network, 4 server error, 5 partial failure.
- This command writes. Add
--stagedto record it as a proposal a person applies withp202 change apply.
