Hi guys,

I found this in the FT today. It makes interesting reading. Regulation to all blogs and advertising. Alarming and will affect those that create landing page review sites.

Check it out.

Hmm... I guess people really can't regulate themselves. I knew from the start that the Acai thing would turn bad and never hopped on the suicidal bandwagon.

I think that advertisers will get more strict with what type of traffic they allow. I could see some advertisers for certain offers requiring affiliates to provide landing page and not allow cloaking.

I don't think that it will be a problem though if you don't promote the crap rebill offers that rip off the customer.

This is going to change everything for review sites and fake blogs. Time to get above board on everything if you plan to stay in the game.

It will make a big difference for some people, but it is not the end of the world for AM. All you would likely have to do if you continued the blog style LP is commission someone to try the product and generate actual reviews. I cannot remember exactly which service offers authentic reviews, but there is a business online that specializes in it. Then again, you could use an outsourcing service on the net for it. You would have to front a little more money, but at least you could stay in business...

I'm actually excited about this. When AM's lie about the products they promote it hurts those who buy. I've got review sites that work just fine -- and I haven't lied... Remember, writing compelling copy doesn't mean making stuff up.

In a 30 minute span I counted 12 different ads for "flogs" about some "mom" from "Alexandria VA" who "stumbled" upon a great "2 free trials" secret.

None of us (I don't care how big or small we are) want the FTC to crack down on AM... But with all of the fake blogs out there, it's probably coming sooner than later...

The bottomline: There are tons of guys making serious money and... they aren't lying.. You don't have to.
