Hi,
Yesterday I got an email from CJ that they are investigating my traffic. They asked why most of my traffic is redirect202.com
I explained that I used cloaking but they didn't like it very much... They wouldn't understand why it is important for an affiliate to cloak the traffic. They asked me to indicate in my profile(!) that I cloak so that merchant's can choose whether to work with me or not, and maybe to reverse my commissions!
I had to turn off cloaking to satisfy them (as I flag my account as "special"). Never had that problem with other networks before.
Anyone else had this problem with CJ or with other networks?
Steve/Wes are you familiar with that?

Update: They demand that any affiliate who uses tracking202 (even without cloaking) would flag their account as "Special" and explain the "Use of tracking202.com redirection ... the how and the why ... with examples of how and where it is triggered ..."
Be aware that if you already have working campaigns with CJ, they would be changed to "pending" status and must be re-approved by merchants, including the option to reverse commissions by merchants for "the lack of disclosure" .
Be also aware that many merchants automatically decline application of "special" accounts.
It's really a shame that CJ's compliance department chooses to see it that way..

Yes, this is something that has been going on in the past year. They don't understand redirects of any kind nor do they understand the purpose of tracking. Many affiliates have had to go through explaining the process but regardless, CJ does not like info being hidden from them. They will still work with you but they demand that you remove all cloaking as a result if your account is in question. Not all Tracking202 users have been flagged but if you send enough click volume, they will contact the user.

yacobir, yes, more of us need to do this.
It appears that a little power has gone way too far. We need to give them reason to respect the privacy of all parties involved, especially the ones actually bringing them most of their money!

Maybe we should organize some kind of a petition and send it to them.

If we use the self hosted version will they still flag our account as "Special"? I use CJ and have some profitable programs so I don't want to risk any problems with them. I'm wondering if I should pull my tracking202 links?

Hey guys we just setup Tracking202 and are asking our CJ rep what they feel about us using the software.
We do substantial business with CJ $xxx, xxx per year and are part of CJ Performer so assuming we will get a good answer. Will post up as soon as I hear back.

Alright so it seems that Tracking 202 is ok. From general support:
"Third party tracking software is generally OK to use however it will NOT take the place of your CJ links as far as proper tracking (i.e. being credited to your CJ Account Manager) is concerned."
I have a conference call next week with our advisor and I also have them clarifying the above (which came from regular support) with their Network Quality Team.
Bottom line from what I am gathering it seems that the software is ok to use but cloaking is definitely a no no. They are going to analyze my inbound traffic over the weekend and let me know for sure next week.

From my previous experience talking to CJ personally as well, they just want to know everything about your campaign in order to protect their advertisers from shady traffic, that is why cloaking is not allowed.

Alright so after speaking with out CJ Performer account rep and him speaking with the quality control team we have CONFIRMED that it is OK to use Tracking 202 Pro in conjunction with your CJ account.
What you cannot do though is CLOAK your links. So as long as you are not cloaking you will not be shut down. Hope that helps and good luck!

That's right, but you still have to flag your account as "special"..

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought it might be better to bump this old one.
In the 5-6 mos since this was last discussed, what's now the status of CJ toward using P202? I know not to use the cloaking feature, but do they have any special requirements when sending traffic through ones own P202 domain? Do I have to check off anything special on my CJ Account page or notify them in some way?
