I know Prosper202 is covered by the Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported which states:
Noncommercial- You may not use this work for commercial purposes.
Thus, one cannot integrate the source code into a commercial product. That's fine and clear.
I'm working on a product that I will sell commercially. It's still in its planning/early dev stages. Although the product will not require Prosper202 in any way, what I would like to do is to be able to pull in some data from the tables in case my customers already use Prosper202. Otherwise my product will have some similar functionality, albeit more narrowly focused.
I know with the standard GNU and Apache licenses that the output from a program, like data in a database or an image created using Gimp, is not in any way covered by the licenses of the software used to create said data. From my reading online, it seems that the data in the Prosper202 tables would also not be covered by the CC license.
Am I reading this correctly? I believe I am, but I figured I'd throw it out there before I invested too much time into supporting this functionality.
Hopefully this won't go unnoticed in this forum, since it's not exactly the busiest forum here. If it does, maybe I'll ask it elsewhere.
