Hey there...

This is a bit of a newbie post, so I apologize in advance...did search some of the old posts but still a bit unsure...

I'm a fairly new T202 Pro customer - I've used it successfully to track one of my own products (via conversion pixel), but now want to start using it to track some direct linking campaigns I have on the Google Content network.

I watched the direct linking video and that seems pretty clear...I guess my only question (and perhaps it's more an AdWords question than a T202 question) is this -

Can I have my Display URL be the same domain name where I'm hosting the meta-refresh and redirect.php? Or does my Display URL have to be the domain name where the user ends up (like on Google search)? I would rather not have my Display URL be the domain where the user ends up, as the domain name has very little to do with the offer being hosted there. I see people doing this (what I want to do) on the content network, but not sure how they pull that off (unless Google just doesn't care whether display URL matches "offer" domain).

Also, if it's wiser (safer) for me to have display URL match the "offer domain", then I assume I can host the meta-refresh and PHP redirect on any domain I own?? Should I make sure the domain has backlinks, some pages indexed, etc? Or does it not matter?

Apologies if this sounds more like an AdWords question than a T202 question....

Thanks,

- Dave

Hi Dave,

I just want to clarify, you are currently direct linking to an offer and want your display url to be (e.g. www.mywebsite.com) instead of the landing page of the offer (e.g. www.theoffer.com), correct?

When using a display url google will check the validity of such url so your display url must be the offer landing page (www.theoffer.com). If you would like to display url to be (mywebsite.com) you i-frame the offer. I framing allows the offer to sit on your hosted url, so when your ad is clicked on the display url shows as (mywebsite.com):

https://dashboard.tracking202.com/tracking202pro/lp-setup/iframe/#type1

please let me know if this helps!

Alex
