I need some help with Tracking 202 Pro set-up. I've reviewed all the training and I think I've read every post on the forum (at that's what it feels like) and I can't figure it out. My landing page is on a Wordpress blog with multiple posts with just a single affiliate offer.
Here's what I'd like to have happen when a visitor clicks on my affiliate link:
1. When hovering on the affiliate link the status bar displays http://www.mylandingpage.com/redirect.php (This was easy enough and I just used this address as my affiliate link and name the php file accordingly).
2. Of course I want all the tracking and cloaking information to remain intact and that it's passed though like it's supposed to.
3. When the visitor arrives at the affiliate offer, I want the address bar to show a second domain that I own rather than the real offer domain.( I have domain forwarding with masking set up on this second domain but I'm not sure which code to paste into the forwarding box at the registrar to keep from screwing up the tracking. I know this is similar to the IFramed LP Setup but it's not exactly what I want.In the non-pro version of Tracking 202 I would paste the LP Outbound Tracking Affiliate URL in the forwarding box. I'm not sure what to paste in Pro nor where to get it.)
To get my affiliate ID the CPA Network asks for a domain name. If my thinking is correct, I can give them the forwarded domain without disclosing the domain I drive traffic to and not worrying about a cloaking failure.
Other set-up questions:
4. Can I paste the LP JS code in the footer? It's the only file I see in the template that has a body closing tag </body>. If not, where else should paste it? My offer and link are in a sticky first post on the home page.
5. Can I create the redirect.php file in a text editor and save it as a .php file or do I have to use a php editor?
6. Can I just upload the redirect.php file to the root directory of my blog?
This is my first attempt at setting up tracking so I'm sorry for so many questions in a single post.
Thanks to anyone that can help.
