Here is the following error message I am getting.

Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your 202-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.

•Are you sure you have the correct username and password?

•Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?

•Are you sure that the database server is running?

If you're unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the Prosper202 Support Forums.

Note, double checked my database name, user and password in my cpanel mysql database along with my 202-config.php file. They are all correct and I still get this error.

Please provide me with some solutions that will help me out here. I use to have the previous version working without problems.

I know it's no help, but I have the exact same problem after an install I did this morning. I, like you confirmed by dbname,dbuser, and dbpass.

I'm not expecting an answer on this forum. If you look at the previous questions over the past few weeks they haven't responded to any of them.

Nevertheless, if I find an answer elsewhere, I'll post the solution here for you and anyone else that may need help.

Hi guys,

I just encountered the same error and found a "fix". In the config.php file it says there is a "99% chance you won't need to change this". Well, i was in that 1% that had to. If you log into your MySQL settings on your control panel for your web host, you might see something like "ServerName: yourusername.yourprovidermysql.com". Replace "localhost" with this in your config.php file and it should boot up when you go to the URL.

yes, thanks, it helped me.. put an address of your mysql into the dbhost line, in my case it was: mysql1031.servage.net
