Post subject: Global Tracking Pixel + Hoplink
|
|
hi
just signed up with tracking202. changed all the destination URLs in my direct linking ads to those that were given by tracking202 in step #7 of the set up. i was just wondering about the hop link that i get from clickbank. does the tracking202 link that i have just put in my destination url include the hoplink? otherwise how will i be paid a commission?
also with regards to global tracking pixel, do i need to get the vendor to put this code into their sites html? what would happen if they didnt? how would i contact the vendor from clickbank?
thanks

Hello,
I recommend you watch this video: https://dashboard.tracking202.com/tracking202/videos/
You should have entered thier hoplink into t202, so when they gen the link it's for your offer, you can confirm this by clicking on the link, it should send you to the clickbank offer.
Finally there is no need to put the global pixel on the merchants page, your sub id tracking will track everything for you including conversions as long as you have setup everything correctly.
I hope this helps.
Thanks for the post,
Alex

Hello Alex....I have a new Clickbank campaign going and Tracking202 is picking up my keywords and everything is working fine.
My question though is don't I need to send the Clickbank merchant the global tracking pixel to place on the confirmation page so I will know which keyword makes the sale, the same way I need to send the global tracking pixel to a CPA network so I know which keyword converted into a lead?
I know you answered this above but just not understanding it. Why would I not need to send a global tracking pixel to track a sale for a Clickbank product when I have to send a global tracking pixel to a CPA company to track a lead? This of course is assuming I do not want to upload subids.
Thanks and will wait for your reply!

Trip Trap,
You only need one subid. The pixel is for the network to place on the payment/thankyou page. When you provide the subid, and you get a sale, that subid is marked. I realize you don't want to have to manually update your subids, but the network is in charge of placing the pixel, or the trackback.

Hello David and thanks for the reply.
Ok...I have no problem updating my subids when I get a sale to know which keyword triggered the sale. So what you are saying is when I get a sale with Clickbank get a hold of their subids and update them into Tracking202 so I will know which keyword triggered the sale...is that right?

Ok...thank you so much as I am just really trying to understand how it all works.
If I use the subids to track the keywords then what is the purpose of the global tracking pixel? I had thought I could use one or the other ie. update subids manually to track keywords or send the global tracking pixel to the network and have the keywords automatically tracked?

Sometimes the GT Pixel doesn't get fired properly so you may miss some leads/actions/subids. Same thing for the pingback.
Talk to your affiliate manager (AM) and try to get it working right. I know that Market Leverage (ML) and Copeac don't fire it properly in my personal campaigns.
Did you know if you manually update your subids, and the pixel had already auto updated for you, that it's okay? It won't count it twice.
In conclusion... test test test. And while you're testing, you can always manually update for your records.
