Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can help, my mind is turning to mush on this one...

I currently use AdWords and redirect to Tracking202, which then adds its unique #123455678 ending. This is easy enough and works really well.

I'm now needing to send PPC traffic to a partner website, who use Omniture SiteCatalyst. Since they run the landing page on our behalf they need me to put a ?s_cid_ppc_abc_xyz on the end of the destination URL in AdWords.

Since it goes to Tracking202 I'm thinking I need it to be the intermediary to it all, so somehow I need to get Tracking202 to add a generic ?s_cid_ppc_abc_xyz to the URL.

Is this logic correct?

If I simply add the Omniture tracking code to the end of the Landing Page URL in Tracking202 Step 4 will it mean that the output URL will be like this below?

www.partnersite.com?s_cid_ppc_abc_xyz#123455678

The unique #12345678 ending that Tracking202 does is fine since they're said we're free to have any ending after the critical first part s_cid_ppc_abc.

Is this all I need to do?

Thanks in advance guys!

C

Hi Charlotte,

this format below should be fine.

www.partnersite.com?s_cid_ppc_abc_xyz#123455678

But the big question you need answered from the partner site is if they have a way to report the numeric subid back to you in some sort of report. Because the url above will work, but if the site is not picking that up and reporting your conversion back to you in some sort of way then t202 can't be used to its full potential.

Hope this clears things up for you.

Hi Nana,

Thanks so much for that.

I'll have access to their Omniture software so will have a look around, my guess is the info will be in there somewhere.

Thanks again!

Me again!

Is there any way to have Tracking202 use an underline instead of a # before the random tracking digits?

Hi again do you mean something like:

http://www.partnersite.com?s_cid_ppc_abc_xyz_123455678

If that's so just enter your link using this format

http://www.partnersite.com?s_cid_ppc_abc_xyz_

As long as you can easily run a report to pull the numerical number on your conversion reports it will be fine

Thanks

Ahh as simple as that, thanks!

For some reason I thought it the 202 tracking code required a # for the subid to know where to start. No idea why...

Thanks again!
