Hi all... I am yet another newbie.

I have read though a lot of this site and watched many videos. I understand that Prosper 202 and Tracking 202 are exactly the same, with the exception that prosper is self hosted. I also assume tracking 202 would be much easier to set up initially. So my question is........

Why would I chose Prosper 202? What is the benefit of self hosting (other than more control over down time)?

The only thing is more control over down time.

Alot of people like to modify prosper and add custom things to it.

It is really up to you.

When I started PPC, I used tracking202 then prosper202 and now tracking202 pro.

Prosper202 and Tracking202 will give you the same results so it is up to you.

If you are new, I would suggest using tracking202 or tracking202 pro.

My suggestion is that you use Tracking202 to start out. If you are new in the industry you might not be familiar with managing your hosting account. Tracking202 takes care of that for you. They host it so you don't have to. You will also not have to worry about updating and errors.

The great part about prosper202 is that you can easily add features to prosper as it is an opensource application. In the end the decision is a personal preference. Again, I suggest Tracking202 if you aren't familiar with setting up applications on your hosting account. This will in the end save you time!

My big issue with T202 was the fact that it was hosted on someone else's servers. That's why I went with P202 when I first started out.

Of course, once the team released T202Pro, I had no choice BUT to run all my tracking through them. At that point I figured, hey I trust these guys, they know what they're doing, and they really care about the industry and their reputation.

Additionally, having the ability to see my stats reconciled to the penny without having to upload conversion and spend data manually saves me tons of hours.

Can you track individual keywords that have a different ID tracking code but link to the same landing page?

Yes, this is why we track. Each kw is given a unique ID so that we know which kws convert to sales.
