See the thing is...I'm a newb and almost all of this tracking stuff makes sense to me. But when I read and hear SUBIDS, Pixels and Postbacks, it's like Klingon, Elvish or some other mythical language to me.

I have been up and down these forums searching for the answer to my question and have found variations of the answer, am not sure if they apply to my case.

Here's my deal:

I am an affiliate for a guy who runs a company. He wants me to funnel traffic to a generic, representative specific page created for him by the parent company he's associated with.

His url looks something like this:

https://www.websitename.com/ABC/XYZ/default.aspx?RepNumber=az1234

The guy generates a monthly report of people that make requests on the page because I get paid per request. But I want to use tracking to make sure things stay on the up and up and track what keywords convert so I can later trim the fat in my PPC campaigns.

I know that there's no one size fits all SUBID but I'm not exactly sure how to setup tracking with this url because of the existing RepID coding built into the URL.

Would someone please help me figure out the SUBID to use in this case? I would really appreciate it and be forever grateful.

Thanks

The guy you are an affiliate for would have to give you the subid information.

Affiliate networks use different subid's, for instance Clickbank uses tid whereas I use a network that uses data1.

If they have an affiliate manager they should be able to get the needed information for the tracking code.

The thing is...it's not really an affiliate program and he doesn't belong to, or run an affiliate network.

When he started working with this company, they setup a generic template website for him, providing him with a unique RepID and a generic satellite home page that can't be edited.

Every rep in the company has the exact same setup, just different URL's with their RepID identifier.

I hope I explained that okay.

I want to be able to track clicks and traffic sent to this generic satellite page. Is that possible with this kind of setup?
