Today, we're pleased to announce that 202 officially has a partnership with the Yahoo team to give our users Gold account access! If you already have a gold account, this obviously doesn't apply to you. If you don't, and want one, we'll try to work with our Yahoo contacts to get you on board. If you're interested, please send an email to me at steven@tracking202.com.
What is a Gold Account?
If you don't know what a Gold account is, think of it as an upgraded Yahoo account. When you sign up for a Yahoo account, you have a regular account. Normally, to obtain a Gold account, you need to spend $1500 in one month or $500 per month for three consecutive months before you even qualify. Even then you'll have to contact Yahoo and request for a Gold account. People who don't spend this much normally won't get a Gold account. Have no fear, that's why 202 is here!
The main difference between the Yahoo Gold account and the Yahoo regular account is that there is an added upload function. Normally you can download your campaigns but you can't upload them. With the Gold account, you'll be able to export and import campaigns taking your affiliate marketing to the next level! Since you now can import campaigns without manually having to set everything up, it'll make your PPC go much further, especially with the help of Export202 if you really want to fully utilize the feature.
Yahoo! Team Help
In addition, for those who want the help, not only will our contacts at Yahoo hook you up with a Gold account, there is an entire team willing to work with you guys to set up your campaigns for you! They'll try and ensure it meets QS and optimize your campaigns for optimum returns! Normally, Yahoo would charge a fee for setting anything up for you guys but our contacts at Yahoo are willing to help out 202 users for FREE! That's if you want it. For people who are not doing a whole lot of volume and is still learning Yahoo, I recommend taking any help you can get, especially since it's directly from Yahoo.
EDIT: If you guys can send me the following information when you email me your request for a Yahoo Gold Account, that'd be great (please note some people contacted me on AIM but haven't send me the email request yet, I can't get you the account if you don't send me the email).
- First and Last Name
- Account Username
- Account Number
- Actual Monthly Yahoo Spending
- Your 202 Account Username

Yeah...Gold Status would be ideal. I create campaigns with SpeedPPC and it's annoying to have to wait for them to upload my stuff.

It still blows my mind as to why this is not a default feature. Google and MSN give this free by default with no required ad spend. I'm not quite sure why they want to make it more difficult and time consuming for their advertisers to actually spend money with them.

I don't really know the real reason behind it but my guess has always been that they want you to understand the QS by learning it from the ground up. If they simply offered the import function up front, those who are using Google would simply import their campaigns over and neglect to actual study Yahoo's system. By having to earn your way, you actually learn how Yahoo QS works. That of course is pure assumption.
